IDB Board Visit at Cotabato City: Charting a Path Forward for Bangsamoro Peace

 
 

Cotabato City, Philippines – On  September 22-23, 2024, The IDB Board made an official visit in Cotabato City to meet with the stakeholders of Peace Process in the Bangsamoro. The Board deliberated on the latest developments in the peace process, considered the challenges ahead, and reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting the region's development.

During the meeting, the IDB discussed the ongoing decommissioning process, challenges, and accomplishment recognizing the importance of transparency and accountability. The Board was able to meet various peace stakeholders. Additionally, the Board approved innovative initiatives to enhance the IDB's operational efficiency, including the implementation of an inventory management system and human resource information system.

Through its recent efforts, the IDB is committed to addressing the challenges and uncertainties faced by the peace process. By working closely with the Government of Philippines (GPH), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), and international partners, the IDB aims to contribute to a lasting peace in the Bangsamoro region.

As the IDB moves forward, it will continue to be a driving force in supporting the peace process and promoting sustainable development in the Bangsamoro region. By continuing it’s efforts  the IDB is dedicated to creating a more peaceful, prosperous, and equitable future for the Bangsamoro people.
