Turning Pages of Peace: IDB and Nonviolent Peaceforce Discuss Decommissioning Successes

 
 

Cotabato City, Philippines – On 19 September 2024, the IDB meet with the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) to discuss the progress of the decommissioning process and explore potential collaborations at IDB Headquarters in Cotabato City. During the meeting, IDB officials introduced the organization and its involvement in the Bangsamoro Peace Process, highlighting the accomplishments and the progress of IDB in the Decommissioning Process.

The IDB's Chief of Staff welcomed the NP delegation and standard briefing presentation of the IDB. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in implementing the peace agreement.

The NP delegation expressed their interest in learning from the IDB's experiences and exploring potential areas of collaboration. They shared insights from their work in South Sudan, highlighting the importance of community-based conflict resolution and the role of women in peacebuilding.

IDB expressed its gratitude for the NP delegation's visit and reaffirmed its commitment to the peace process. Both parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange in the future.
